Kindermann Expands Its Portfolio of Solutions for Hospitality Facilities

With its new Hospitality Solutions, Kindermann is entering a new business segment and offering professional Wi-Fi solutions with remote monitoring and support. The offering is specifically tailored to hotels, senior living facilities, nursing homes, and other hospitality businesses.

A stable Wi-Fi connection is now a standard feature in the hospitality industry. Internet access is just as much a given for guests and residents as it is for employees who rely on digital applications and processes. The demand is high. In the DACH region alone, there are approximately 23,700 owner-operated hotels. Unlike large hotel chains, many of these establishments do not have their own IT department and rely on reliable external partners. If the Wi-Fi goes down or fails to perform reliably, quick assistance is needed. This is exactly where Kindermann’s hospitality concept comes in: In addition to professional Wi-Fi infrastructure, the focus is primarily on continuous monitoring and a comprehensive range of service and support offerings.

In the DACH region alone, there are approximately 23,700 owner-operated hotels.

More Than Just Wi-Fi

Kindermann takes a holistic approach. In addition to a high-performance Wi-Fi infrastructure, digital information systems, conference technology, IP telephony, video surveillance, and other network-based applications can also be integrated into a single platform. This reduces complexity, simplifies administration, and creates a future-proof infrastructure capable of meeting a wide range of requirements. The solutions are modular in design and are suitable for facilities of all sizes—from small hotels with about ten rooms to large properties with over 100 rooms.

A key element of the concept is the preconfigured network racks. They combine firewalls, controllers, switches, and other network components into a centralized, optimally coordinated infrastructure. This facilitates installation, simplifies subsequent operation, and lays the groundwork for centralized management of all network components. Depending on the building’s layout, Kindermann relies on traditional CAT cabling or integrates existing coaxial networks to avoid costly renovations as much as possible. For operators, this means a single central platform, a single point of contact, and end-to-end network management—instead of numerous individual solutions from different manufacturers.

Service as a Key Success Factor

Kindermann places particular emphasis on the reliable operation of the systems. The Wi-Fi infrastructure is managed centrally and continuously monitored via remote monitoring. This allows not only the access points and network components to be monitored, but also connected devices and their status. Intelligent remote monitoring detects irregularities early on, so they can often be resolved before they even affect hotel operations or guests. The concept is complemented by professional remote support and customized service-level agreements, including 24/7 service.

“Many operators don’t want to deal with network issues; they’d rather focus on their guests,” explains Thomas Gerner, Head of Product Management at Kindermann. “That’s exactly why we don’t just offer Wi-Fi technology—we support our customers every step of the way, from the initial analysis through planning and implementation to ongoing operation and support.”

Together with Specialty Retailers

Planning, implementation, and support are carried out in collaboration with Kindermann’s regional authorized dealers. After analyzing the requirements and the existing infrastructure, a solution tailored to the specific building is developed. The authorized dealer on site handles installation, commissioning, and support.

This service concept also offers new opportunities for specialty retailers. Through remote monitoring and remote support, partners can provide their customers with ongoing support without having to dispatch a technician for every issue. At the same time, the regional specialty retailer remains the customer’s primary point of contact and can provide on-site service as needed.

In addition, a professional network infrastructure opens up additional business opportunities. It serves as the foundation for further projects in the areas of conference and media technology, digital signage, IP TV, and video surveillance, thereby laying the groundwork for long-term customer relationships.

“With Hospitality Solutions, we are strategically expanding our portfolio to include a new business segment. At the same time, we are opening up new opportunities for our specialty retail partners to expand their offerings. In the future, they will be able to support their customers not only with media technology, but also with professional Wi-Fi solutions and related services. This creates additional revenue potential—especially in economically challenging times,” Timo Meißner, Managing Director of Kindermann GmbH.
