Greuther Fürth

Where meetings
become events

Who doesn't know them, the history-steeped Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth, with its first team rooted in the 2nd Bundesliga. In February 2016, the old main stand was razed to the ground. Today, a modern new building shines as a new landmark in the heart of Franconia. The new main stand of the Sportpark Ronhof | Thomas Sommer stadium was inaugurated at the end of July 2017 and is conquering the business world.

The modern glass building with its stylish furnishings in a mix of wood, stone and stainless steel offers an excellent ambience for business events and meetings of any size. The flexible forms of use offer space for a conference with twelve people up to a large event with 1,200 guests. The innovative media technology from Kindermann adapts just as flexibly to the possibilities.

"A stadium cannot be operated economically on its own with 17 soccer matches a year. So it was obvious to create an innovative event venue. The very special atmosphere in a soccer stadium and the convenient transport links with proximity to the airport and freeway make us particularly attractive as a conference venue."

Tobias C. Auer, Director Stadium Operations, SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

When the conference begins, 14 17-inch displays can be electrically extended from the tabletop via the media control system. These are Arthur Holm DB2 devices. The series was specially developed for such applications and supports a resolution of up to 1080p (Full HD) in this size. A total of 15 Quickselect 3.0+ transceivers from Kindermann were installed under the table for signal transmission. The special feature of the QuickSelect system is the possibility of daisy chain cabling, which allows a large number of transmitters and receivers to be strung together with one device. One press of the "ShowMe" button enables content to be transmitted to all displays.

The VIP Lounge is located on the second floor of the new building. The large plenum with 530 sqm and the two adjoining lounge areas with 70 sqm each offer space for up to 450 people, depending on the seating. The stage was equipped with an 8.4 sqm LED wall. Two 85 inch displays from Sony are placed on the left and right side of the room, so that every participant can follow the presentation. The "Audience" lectern from Kindermann was individually designed in the club colors of SpVgg Greuther Fürth. It is equipped with Kindermann QuickSelect 3.0, which can transmit uncompressed video, audio and control signals using HDBaseT technology via a conventional CAT cable. It is connected via the CAT cable to the technical room, where the distribution of the signals via a matrix to the LED wall and the displays takes place via HDBaseT.

On the second floor is the Kleeblatt Lounge for events with up to 200 people. The partitioning options allow the room to be used flexibly, so that even conferences with 20 people can be held in a perfect environment. The central bar area and the 180 sqm outdoor terrace turn every event into an experience. Throughout the room, twelve displays with display mounts from Kindermann are suspended from the ceiling, perfectly adapting to the variable use of space.

For presentations, a Sony laser projector is used here, which elegantly disappears into the ceiling with a Kindermann Compact ceiling lift when not in use. Projections are made on a mobile Projecta screen, a fixed installation was not possible due to the ceiling structure in this area. QuickSelect 3.0 is also used here, which makes sense because of the long cable runs, as HDBaseT ensures latency-free transmission.

The press conference room can also be used for smaller meetings and conferences. Depending on the seating, it offers space for 50 people. The room is equipped with a screen and a Sony projector, which is permanently installed with a Kindermann Premium ceiling mount. A table connection panel Kindermann CablePort Standard 2 is integrated into the speaker's table. Under the table, QuickSelect was again used for signal transmission.

In addition, twelve boxes in two different sizes are available on the 3rd upper floor, the ideal places of retreat for smaller discussion groups with up to 20 participants. The main box of SpVgg Greuther Fürth is equipped with a conference table, in which two CablePort frame slide connection panels are embedded. As in the entire building, QuickSelect is also used here, which uses the existing CAT line to transmit the signals to the display.

"Working with Kindermann and pave was and is a pleasure. With their advice and expertise, we have been able to realize one of the most modern business and conference centers."

says Tobias C. Auer.

The media technology equipment of the Sportpark Ronhof | Thomas Sommer was planned and realized by pave GmbH in Nuremberg in close cooperation with Kindermann . Kindermann is a manufacturer and distributor of media and presentation technology. With its wide range of products, the company can supply everything from a single source. However, the implementation of projects always takes place in cooperation with specialist dealers and system houses.
